2. Placing an Order

When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your order.

After placing your order, you may receive an acknowledgement confirming that we have received it. This acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.

A contract between you and Oil Warehouse is formed when we accept your order and confirm that it has been processed or dispatched.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • A product is unavailable;
  • There is an obvious pricing or product information error;
  • We are unable to obtain payment authorisation;
  • We are unable to deliver to the address provided;
  • We reasonably suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity; or
  • There are legal or regulatory restrictions affecting the sale or delivery of the product.

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled product or order.

3. Product Information

We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, photographs and other information displayed on our website are accurate.

Product packaging, labels, colours and appearance may occasionally differ from images displayed on our website, particularly where manufacturers update their packaging.

You are responsible for checking that a product is suitable for your intended use before purchasing or using it.

Where applicable, you should follow the manufacturer’s instructions, specifications, safety information and recommendations when using a product.

Nothing in these Terms affects your rights where a product is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet your statutory rights.

4. Prices

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable, unless otherwise stated.

Delivery charges and any other applicable costs will be shown before you complete your order.

We may change our prices at any time, but changes will not normally affect orders that we have already accepted.

If we discover an obvious pricing error after you place an order, we may contact you to give you the option of purchasing the product at the correct price or cancelling your order.

5. Payment

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available during checkout.

You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.

Orders may be subject to payment verification and security checks.

We will not be responsible for delays caused by a payment provider declining or delaying a transaction.

6. Delivery

We will deliver products to the address provided when you place your order.

Any delivery dates or times provided are estimates unless we expressly agree otherwise.

We will take reasonable steps to deliver your order within the stated timeframe. However, circumstances outside our reasonable control may occasionally cause delays.

Some oils, fluids, chemicals or related products may be subject to carrier or transportation restrictions. This may affect the delivery methods or locations available for certain products.

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

7. Risk and Ownership

Responsibility for the goods will pass to you when they are delivered to you or to a person identified by you to receive them, subject to applicable consumer law.

Ownership of the goods will pass to you once we have received payment in full.

8. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Goods

Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If an item arrives damaged, leaking, faulty or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible using the contact details provided below.

We may ask you to provide photographs of the product, packaging, labels and any visible damage to help us investigate the issue.

Where applicable, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.

Please do not use a product if its container is damaged, leaking or appears unsafe.

9. Returns, Cancellations and Refunds

Your rights regarding cancellations, returns and refunds are explained in our separate Returns & Refunds Policy, which should be read alongside these Terms & Conditions.

Nothing in our Returns & Refunds Policy or these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights.

10. Using Our Products

Products must be used, handled and stored appropriately and in accordance with any instructions, warnings or safety information supplied with them.

You are responsible for checking that the product purchased is appropriate for the vehicle, machinery, equipment or other application for which you intend to use it.

Where compatibility depends on a manufacturer’s specification or approval, you should confirm that the product meets the required specification before use.

Oil Warehouse will not be responsible for damage caused by misuse, incorrect application, improper storage or failure to follow applicable manufacturer instructions, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

11. Website Information

We make reasonable efforts to keep our website available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee that it will always operate without interruption or error.

We may update, change or remove website content, products and services from time to time.

You must not misuse our website, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, introduce malicious software or use the website for unlawful purposes.

13. Our Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

If you are a consumer, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for losses that are not foreseeable or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Where you purchase products as a consumer, we do not exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under UK consumer law.

14. Business Customers

If you purchase products wholly or mainly for business purposes, additional or different terms may apply.

Consumer cancellation rights do not generally apply to purchases made wholly or mainly for business purposes.

Where appropriate, business customers should contact us regarding applicable trade terms, credit arrangements, returns or other commercial conditions.

15. Events Outside Our Control

We will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.

These may include severe weather, transport disruption, industrial disputes, supplier failures, shortages, fires, floods, accidents, government restrictions or other circumstances that we could not reasonably prevent.

We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effects of such circumstances where possible.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website, products or applicable laws and regulations.

The Terms & Conditions applying to your purchase will normally be those in effect when your order is placed.

17. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory legal protections applicable in your place of residence.

Nothing in these Terms affects any rights you may have regarding where legal proceedings can be brought.

18. Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or replace your statutory consumer rights.

Our products must meet the standards required by applicable UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
